Niall Ferguson
Niall Ferguson is one of the world's leading global economy historians. He is the Laurence A. Tisch professor of history at Harvard University; the William Ziegler professor of business administration at Harvard Business School; a senior research fellow at Jesus College, Oxford University; and a senior fellow at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University.
 
Ferguson is the author of many books, including "The Pity of War," "The Cash Nexus: Money and Power in the Modern World," "Empire: The Rise and Demise of the British World Order," "Lessons for Global Power," and the "The War of the World: Twentieth Century Conflict and the Descent of the West." His new book, "The Ascent of Money: A Financial History of the World," is an international bestseller and the basis for a multipart television documentary.

A prolific commentator on contemporary politics and economics for the American and British press, Ferguson's work appears regularly in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Foreign Affairs, and numerous other publications. In 2004, Time magazine named him among the world's 100 most influential people
