mostly focusing and are working in Los Angeles last especially 10 years as a studio we heavily focused on embedding our works into media architecture our work has been seen around the world more than 608s and almost all the continents and as you can see our work is profoundly understand the connection between humans machines and environments and trying to create an AI neuroscience and architecture and created art Science and Technology transformation our work has been seen across the world and especially places where we do not imagine art itself in this case on the major buildings Frank Gary zah hadit gudi and Beyond in airports in hospitals in schools where sometimes art is not maybe intended to be be but create an excitement

inspiration joy and hope around the places and over the years what I truly focus on is how I can create a connection with the world around us by using Collective memories of humanity to create Collective dreams to imagine a collective Consciousness and our work has been transformed many many major institutions Galleries and try to created a new kind of a narrative between us and the environments through computers data and especially machine intelligence today in my keynote I would like to share with you the Journey of our studio and try to imagine a world of an artist like myself Imagining the future or always remembering the future I think our most well-known work at the moment that transform a lot of people's imagination and mind is called machine

hallucinations I was so fortunate 2016 February in San Francisco there was this wonderful event at gray ARA and in this event the topic was pretty much and AI Engineers were donating their first research first outputs to create a positive impact for underprivileged artists and in that event I was one of the first artists with here with Mike TAA and became the very first first artist in Residence at Google and this project truly transformed my imagination because I was able to finally work with AI as an artist practicing with data since 2008 it was an inspiring moment to me and I'm grateful for this residency at Google because my TAA K MCD and AG Aras I was able to learn me and my team learn how to imagine with machine intelligence and how to use cloud computing and Beyond but to me this resonancy was a first start point of

understanding how we can use the inspiring Archives of humanity and the first project was called archive dreaming it which was the very first time inspired from the library of Babel and and when I think about decentralized knowledge art and architecture together I always draw great inspiration from the Argentine writer hor Luiz borgz and the project was transforming this uh inspiring environment in a library where we learn the the truth the research and I transformed this Library into an uh actually libraries where information turns into knowledge and it was trying to reconstruct this imagination of an AI dreaming inside the Library this project is as far as I know still the very first artwork in public space was using realtime AI work but this project was also start point for me the project called machine hallucinations what you

see on the left side is very first example of AI dreaming from 1.7 million documents but what I imagine that if one day AI can dream or hallucinate I thought that this cannot be just an two-dimensional world or a pigment that we know that can dry I imagine that this can be a moment that we invent a new pigment by using light as a material and I imagine that if AI can dream it doesn't need to dry it can be always in flux in change and like life so over the years we recorded many many type of different machine hallucinations here as you are seeing uh one of the software I have been using with my team developing a custom software allows me to create an thinking brush that allows me to create a sort of an um a camera in the mind of a machine and over the last 8 years years since 2016 as a studio we

constantly developed new look and Fields we always try to find a new ways of painting with data and create a new kind of uh context the question was how machines could simulate unconscious and subconscious events such as dreaming remembering and hallucinating and over the years I also research on Lower Dimension reduction a specific AI algorithm that can see hear um and watch basically and transform what machine learning situations and transform them into AI data sculptures in this case you are watching an roomy Persian poets Mes in 19 languages or Mozart's body of work and our work has been constantly transformed many many building and many many environments and I'm excited to show you some examples

one of the exciting moment one of the exciting project I guess that we would like to bring in the attention is two years ago started the concept of living architecture as an artist working with data and Ai and transforming build environments I do believe that any canvas any architecture can transform into each other and I do believe that architectural forms and Foundations and facades can be and incredible canas in these conditions I have been dreaming about this concept so long time so living architecture cabao is a transformation of famous Catalan architect Anton gaudi's incredible facade for this project we work closely with the kasaba family that that operates the building and preserves the building and imagine this idea of transforming the historic facade into a canvas and to make this happen we were able to transform the facade by using a

a weather station and getting a real-time data from the building and by using 1.2 billion UNESCO Heritage data points of the building we were able to create these living architecture pieces what you see in the center the rain data transforming itself and on the right side we are seeing the wind patterns and on the left side we are seeing the humidity data but what was so inspiring what was so so so powerfully different was taking this idea and transform the original facade into a canvas

this was a very very special moment I think we profoundly witness the power of public art profoundly witness coming together around the concept of public art and truly honor the genius of godi by using AI data and innovation I believe this was one of the largest

audience ever came together 65,000 people in Barcelona and our work is got went beyond the also these incredible buildings but also transform the famous the spere in Las Vegas where grateful for this Fair team that I was the first Artisan resident uh with you two and danowski what you are seeing is a Winds of Las Vegas transforming the invisible pattern of um Las Vegas data set of the wind patterns and and also the ISS data from the earth and also the Hubble telescope data of the earth uh the Glo the memories of the galaxies transforming into an AI data sculpture I'm happy to say that we were able to create the world's largest AI data sculpture 366 ft high and 516 ft wide and another project that transform our Studios journey is last year was able to create the very

first AI artwork at MoMA and this [Music] [Music] [Music] artwork [Music] oh

the project started as a pandemic research in the during like the when the museum was closed Moma is one of the most important one of the most incredible museums in the world and thanks to our creators Michelle K Paulo Antonelli and Keras I was able to create this an exciting research for this project what makes it different is we were able to use open-source Moma data 100 38,000 artworks in the collection and by using a real time as you can see here a camera and a microphone and also weather station data this artwork became a living painting simply this is for example one of the uh interfaces that we created another software running real time and showing how AI is exactly dreaming transforming The Archives of the MoMA into a machine hallucination we

can see how the sound of the space how the movement in the space how the weather condition transforms AI decisions but just to explain you what you are seeing took me and my team around 6 months to develop so it is not just AI art it is a machine and human collaboration which I'm calling it 50% human 50% machine and this transformation in this case you can see the image on the left side is an AI model trained on 138,000 data of the M archive and on the right side what you are seeing me as an artist transforming the input of AI into a data pigmentation so as you can see clearly the AI inspiring a moment and creating this co-creation and in this case this

pigment doesn't dry this pigment constantly change ever evolve and never the same I do believe that this project became not only historic to create the very first AI work in the collection of Moma but also transform the idea of CHS and control in the age of machine learning and machine intelligence and to me in this last one year stories in this around the work and responses are remarkable and as you can see here there's three artworks from left to right they are all independently exploring the archive in three different chapters and each chapter transforms it into a different pigmentation and what was truly transformative for us was these moments became a very much well received around

the [Music] [Music] world [Music] and what was fascinating to me was the beautiful response around the world people across the world who have been visiting this experience and making a positive impact but what is incredible is this artwork became the first artwork

collected and tokenized at MoMA and not only for me is important but for the entire digital art World an artist like myself practicing creating by using code software AI data and Beyond and the other part of our research is profoundly researching on nature last Almost 5 years we dedicate our research understanding loving respecting nature I do believe nature is our most precious thing nature is the most intelligent thing we have as humanity and we transformed many many many AI models what you are seeing here is for example AI dreaming 75 million flowers but to me what was really really interesting is not necessarily just imagine that AI can create these dreams

of lovers in visually but also the sound of AI sonically but what happens if we can also smell this Ai and I know it sounds very interesting but I believe this is one very first time experientially finding an immersive environment in time and space that when we open the door of the space we were able to create a special AI algorithm train on half million sand molecules that allowed us to create an an immersive environment where you can see hear and smell AI dreams and here is our experience [Music]

[Music] and over the years we constantly train new AI models especially focused on nature here's our California Landscapes train on 155 million images of national parks here in [Music] California we we also worked on the incredible details of corals especially almost 2 years ago World economic Forum invited us to look at these incredible patterns of corals but but what we would like to do is not just another shiny pixel
 21.02
project we would like to work with the UN ocean preservation team and try to create a connection with our AI research and generate an impact to reconstruct the corals and I'm happy to say that our AI model by using 135 million underwater images became a very strongly realistic AI model that became a 3D model that will be put underwater to reconstruct hopefully what we lost so I would like to say that our artworks not only just shiny pixels creating a positive impact across art science and technology and over the years of our Studios work across the world received a significant positive impact and it's we taught that it's our time to use this opportunity and think differently in our next journey in our I guess next decade we dedicate our research to a new project that we called Data land so data land is a museum and a web tree platform
 22.02
dedicated to the data visualization and AI Arts data land will unite Pioneers in diverse Fields including arts and culture leading researchers institutional archives and Cutting Edge technology under the leadership of our studio and what we would like to create in this project is one of the most important I guess AI research that I do hope that make a massive impact called large nature model as we all know current large language models from C GPT Gemini and many others are heavily focused on human intelligence human reasoning but I do believe that nature requires a different perspective nature requires a new understanding and for this purpose we dedicate our next years to understand nature and create an AI model that will be helpful for Humanity and in this project we are also partnering one of the best museums and best institutions in the world and using their open source data to be precise we will be working with more than half
 23.01
billion images and I'm also very grateful our partners Google cloud and Google in general helping us to create a responsible cloud computing to exactly understand how much energy we use and also our Nvidia friends for supporting our GPU and AI research as well so our hope is L&M promised to refine our engagement with understanding of and homage to Earth's replaceable ecosystems it will be a repository for conservation education and a shared Heritage of humanity and also to add much more impact to our research we will be collecting our own data by traveling 16 locations I would like to show you very briefly how our AI looks and feels like so what you are seeing from now on is our first experimentation by fine-tuning our AI models we focus on Flora FAA and fungi and create an exciting research around that we are seeing red sting horn Bridal wheel sting horn Scarlet elf cap

like all kind of Beauty and the depth of nature in our research here we were able to create also beautiful creatures from the Amazonia as well the research around the piece is constantly evolving and changing but I'm happy to say that because we have profoundly deep research on the floraa fangi we can create almost realistic FAA and of course Landscapes and our our research go goes also in a very realistic way to generate these beautiful environments but also create these beautiful creatures as well and additionally we are thinking something much profound than technology we are imagining where data comes from I'm so happy to say that we are me and my partner have soon also traveling across the world and especially Amazonia in Brazil so we were so honored to be able to host it by one of the most incredible indigenous tribes living in Amazonia akre in Brazil here is Chief nwaka and
 25.02
chief puani hosted by the yava Nava people we are very closely working with this incredible tribe not as only just collaborating but also learning what does it really mean to live in a rainforest to understand the context of living in nature in harmony we are also very dearly collect connected with the young artists of the tribe by the way there are only 1,000 people and they have every everything but for the recent dreams of the um Chief Nishi Waka he has been dreaming to bring an incredibly important conferences inside the Amazonia across different IND people who have also lack of fundings due to the reality of life in Amazonia by collaborating with the young artists we were able to create a positive impact and using 13 paintings from the tribe and we use generative Ai and a realtime weather data from the forest we were a bble to create a new project called
 26.00
Winds of yava we dedicate all our income to this to the tribe and and create a positive income by using blockchain Technologies I do believe this is the very first project profoundly created a positive impact for yanawa people that they were able to create finally their first Museum and their first school in the Amazonia in rainforest so I do believe that AI can be used for positive impact tangible impact as well so I would like to finish the presentation by the words of this incredible mind who have been a p and and a wisdom mind he says it's new times we are living now time for forgiveness time for love time for spirituality it's time for Humanity to look back to the origins to the Earth to our hearts to learn to love and respect one and another to to make alliances join forces this is the moment
